This post has nothing to with Andy Nulman as a person but this image does represent my conversation topic!
I have recently been trying to figure out how good it really is to mix work life and social life...social media is obviously a huge issue with joining the both of these, as potential employers and my peers potential employers will be looking to see exactly who we are. The reality is though, that if we remain ourselves with one profile and mix all aspects of our life, these people see those night out photographs and that glass of wine in your hand, these images are a collection of our lives since we set our profiles up, and realistically there being a night out photo a week doesn't look good collectively. But it also being a consumer's space is unfair for us to have to feel like we need to monitor our own profile as if it were a brand, because surely these people have beer per week too!?
On the other hand we create two profiles, but even when we are searched, they will still find two and wonder what we are trying to hide and whether we are pushing to be "too good" in their eyes, because they may no longer feel as though they are taking a sly look into our life; but it may look like we have designed ourselves around them for their acceptance? I currently have one facebook and one twitter account, but I already feel guilty about going out once a week incase you appear to be an unreliable asset as it would be undoubtably the Facebook page which is tapped into! Please tell me what your view is :)
Good morning or good evening...my name is Hannah, I am currently studying Advertising and Brand Management at Staffs Uni and I am in my third year, the course has allowed me to be able to think strategically, with the brand management and strategic thinking side of it and also push creative advertising and ideas.

CV's
Ok so I must have written 4 or 5 different cv's to get to one that I actually like, you wonder whether too formal lacks creativity and too much creativity say's "informal!" I have struggled to get my tone right and debated over whether to tailor it to relevant jobs or whether as part of branding myself I should stick to one tone of voice, because I don't like to think I am pretending to be someone I am not, as much as I want to reach their expectations.
I finally decided to go with a more lighthearted tone and slightly less formal because I came to the conclusion that if I were to use the language they want to hear I suppose I would have to live with that act for the entire time I was there if I were to be pulled in and that for me wouldn't be what I want.
This confusion was all following a CV building workshop yesterday and although helpful I was left wondering whether my personality is one I should have in this industry? Or whether I need to be this formal suit wearer?! although I do hope that my personality shows through it because I think it is an attribute of mine and I didn't want to change that. Afterall if I made out I was a very strong, formal intellectual when they meet the down to earth, character I really am we would all be disappointed wouldn't we!!
Any views or tips on CV's...all very much appreciated as I can then hit draft number 6!

'The Hunting Moon'
The hunting moon is a new film trailer being released by Red Bee Media...the film trailer however will just remain a trailer as it is a creative advertisement for Malaria UK so when people view it again they realise that Malaria is the silent killer..when previously working on creative briefs, film trailer styles were always an option but the idea of it posing as a film and people having to actually search it in order to realise the full meaning of the campaign is a powerful pull tool if it pulls off, as many times, I feel that we see film trailers that often that we may not notice the link at the end and think to visit the site...would we just wait for it to come out? Those of you may be waiting a while!
I do however like how when you 'Google it' there are many many media sites, film and TV including Sky HD who are promoting the film and offering the link for you to 'find out more.'

DDB budweiser
DDB UK have released their new Budweiser ad which is a follow up to their "lyrics" campaign which spelled out "all together now" through a train journey...gathering people on a large scale, their new ad released today is a huge scale game of pool on the top of a building in LA. I love the buzz and sense of interactivity with such a a huge audience, they remind me of the O2 ads having so many people taking part...who would have thought that a simple idea of a huge game of pool could be so interesting to watch?!

TV characters
Virgin Media have released their new ad campaign today, starring speedy gonzales to promote their speedy broadband connection! But last week Specsavers released their new ad starring the mr men, and also Tetley tea brought back their animated characters (which I blogged about earlier) why all of these animated characters? and traditional characters? It's like a fight for the best traditional cartoon!! Maybe they're all doing something for their older audiences or maybe it's just because they make people feel happy inside and slightly childish...let's see who else gets brought back into the limelight...I'd like to see Taz again although a crazy spinning devil probably wouldn't portray a great brand image!

Drench
Just checked out my twitter feed and came across this: juice brand drench has decided to create some smart vending machines, which don't take money but you have to engage in some mentally challenging games for a drink to come out...the whole idea is to promote the importance of staying hydrated, and if you are not and fail then im guessing you won't get a drink! which I suppose people would perhaps already know they were thirsty if they had gone to get a drink, and it may just end up being slightly frustrating, great idea though it does indeed do it's job!!
Genius
I have to say the other night when I was watching the TV and the new Genius, gluten free bread 'stop it' ad came on (launched by Adam and Eve) I wondered if it was one of those ads people would look at me funny for liking! but I have to say the little Albert Einstein impersonator really makes me smile, an unexpected but friendly face for the brand...and I think that it relates to how you feel when you are trying to concentrate and you have that niggly food thought that won't leave your mind!! It's not the traditional grandad type heritage approach but a modern twist for a traditional audience...something to bare in mind whilst looking into a new approach for a Hovis brief :) (link)

Andy Warhol Twist Take 2
Dare have come up with their own little take of 'Andy Warhol eating a hamburger' although their 2010 version has allowed their innovations director to make an IPad and Iphone talk to each other and create an Andy Warhol style burger...their creative director found this video of him doing this but made him dress up when they did it this time to make it a little more "Andy Warhol'ey!!"

Channel 4 "Twist"
I came across this recently and think its a nice interactive idea to get Channel 4 viewers involved with them more, the fridge magnet words idea obviously gives them boundaries but some of them no doubt will be interesting as they are the Channel 4 audience and not BBC2 which could have had a very different outcome! Just a bit of fun if you want to get involved :) (link)

New Releases :)
Just been on my front row application on my laptop to have a scout at new films...I wasn't sure about 'the social network' from the recent ads but after watching the full length trailer i think it could be really good, also on a different note...a 'little fockers' is to be released for christmas! Lets hope it's as funny as the last two!

Tetley tea!! the characters are back!!
Nice to see recently that traditional brands are bringing their original selves back...Heinz packaging and now the Tetley characters are being used in their new ad, which I'm sure a lot of people will relate to, they were a disappearing collectable not long ago and have been kept in the cupboards far too long! Gilette...
Interesting idea from Gilette...I'm quite intrigued as to how many people will engage with these twins...also how a pasta eating competition will be linked to facial hair? (link)

Smirnoff Exchange Project
I am on a mission to find some of my favorite recent advertising and campaigns, I saw the Smirnoff advert a couple of days ago but I hadn't realised the extent of the campaign and the amount of layers involved within it, yet it is so together (link).
