CV's

Ok so I must have written 4 or 5 different cv's to get to one that I actually like, you wonder whether too formal lacks creativity and too much creativity say's "informal!" I have struggled to get my tone right and debated over whether to tailor it to relevant jobs or whether as part of branding myself I should stick to one tone of voice, because I don't like to think I am pretending to be someone I am not, as much as I want to reach their expectations.

I finally decided to go with a more lighthearted tone and slightly less formal because I came to the conclusion that if I were to use the language they want to hear I suppose I would have to live with that act for the entire time I was there if I were to be pulled in and that for me wouldn't be what I want.

This confusion was all following a CV building workshop yesterday and although helpful I was left wondering whether my personality is one I should have in this industry? Or whether I need to be this formal suit wearer?! although I do hope that my personality shows through it because I think it is an attribute of mine and I didn't want to change that. Afterall if I made out I was a very strong, formal intellectual when they meet the down to earth, character I really am we would all be disappointed wouldn't we!!

Any views or tips on CV's...all very much appreciated as I can then hit draft number 6!
