The hunting moon is a new film trailer being released by Red Bee Media...the film trailer however will just remain a trailer as it is a creative advertisement for Malaria UK so when people view it again they realise that Malaria is the silent killer..when previously working on creative briefs, film trailer styles were always an option but the idea of it posing as a film and people having to actually search it in order to realise the full meaning of the campaign is a powerful pull tool if it pulls off, as many times, I feel that we see film trailers that often that we may not notice the link at the end and think to visit the site...would we just wait for it to come out? Those of you may be waiting a while!
I do however like how when you 'Google it' there are many many media sites, film and TV including Sky HD who are promoting the film and offering the link for you to 'find out more.'
Good morning or good evening...my name is Hannah, I am currently studying Advertising and Brand Management at Staffs Uni and I am in my third year, the course has allowed me to be able to think strategically, with the brand management and strategic thinking side of it and also push creative advertising and ideas.

DDB budweiser
DDB UK have released their new Budweiser ad which is a follow up to their "lyrics" campaign which spelled out "all together now" through a train journey...gathering people on a large scale, their new ad released today is a huge scale game of pool on the top of a building in LA. I love the buzz and sense of interactivity with such a a huge audience, they remind me of the O2 ads having so many people taking part...who would have thought that a simple idea of a huge game of pool could be so interesting to watch?!

TV characters
Virgin Media have released their new ad campaign today, starring speedy gonzales to promote their speedy broadband connection! But last week Specsavers released their new ad starring the mr men, and also Tetley tea brought back their animated characters (which I blogged about earlier) why all of these animated characters? and traditional characters? It's like a fight for the best traditional cartoon!! Maybe they're all doing something for their older audiences or maybe it's just because they make people feel happy inside and slightly childish...let's see who else gets brought back into the limelight...I'd like to see Taz again although a crazy spinning devil probably wouldn't portray a great brand image!

Drench
Just checked out my twitter feed and came across this: juice brand drench has decided to create some smart vending machines, which don't take money but you have to engage in some mentally challenging games for a drink to come out...the whole idea is to promote the importance of staying hydrated, and if you are not and fail then im guessing you won't get a drink! which I suppose people would perhaps already know they were thirsty if they had gone to get a drink, and it may just end up being slightly frustrating, great idea though it does indeed do it's job!!
Genius
I have to say the other night when I was watching the TV and the new Genius, gluten free bread 'stop it' ad came on (launched by Adam and Eve) I wondered if it was one of those ads people would look at me funny for liking! but I have to say the little Albert Einstein impersonator really makes me smile, an unexpected but friendly face for the brand...and I think that it relates to how you feel when you are trying to concentrate and you have that niggly food thought that won't leave your mind!! It's not the traditional grandad type heritage approach but a modern twist for a traditional audience...something to bare in mind whilst looking into a new approach for a Hovis brief :) (link)

Andy Warhol Twist Take 2
Dare have come up with their own little take of 'Andy Warhol eating a hamburger' although their 2010 version has allowed their innovations director to make an IPad and Iphone talk to each other and create an Andy Warhol style burger...their creative director found this video of him doing this but made him dress up when they did it this time to make it a little more "Andy Warhol'ey!!"

Channel 4 "Twist"
I came across this recently and think its a nice interactive idea to get Channel 4 viewers involved with them more, the fridge magnet words idea obviously gives them boundaries but some of them no doubt will be interesting as they are the Channel 4 audience and not BBC2 which could have had a very different outcome! Just a bit of fun if you want to get involved :) (link)

New Releases :)
Just been on my front row application on my laptop to have a scout at new films...I wasn't sure about 'the social network' from the recent ads but after watching the full length trailer i think it could be really good, also on a different note...a 'little fockers' is to be released for christmas! Lets hope it's as funny as the last two!

Tetley tea!! the characters are back!!
Nice to see recently that traditional brands are bringing their original selves back...Heinz packaging and now the Tetley characters are being used in their new ad, which I'm sure a lot of people will relate to, they were a disappearing collectable not long ago and have been kept in the cupboards far too long! Gilette...
Interesting idea from Gilette...I'm quite intrigued as to how many people will engage with these twins...also how a pasta eating competition will be linked to facial hair? (link)
